Who's it for
Who is this laptop for?
Study
School BYOD lists, TAFE and uni. Windows laptops that run everything a student needs, without asking a family to find the cost upfront.
Work from home
A reliable everyday machine for email, video calls and spreadsheets, up and running without a big outlay before your first pay.
Home & family
Streaming, browsing and homework on one shared family laptop, new, reliable, and paid off in small weekly amounts.
Rent to own a laptop without the upfront cost
A good laptop costs $800 to $2,000 outright. With Six Star Rentals you rent to own it instead: choose your laptop, pick a 12- or 24-month term, and pay a small fixed amount each week by direct debit. There's no lump sum, just your first weekly payment, and when the agreement ends the laptop is yours to keep.
Brand-new laptops for home, work and study
Every laptop we rent is brand new, not refurbished, and comes with Windows installed and the manufacturer's warranty. Our range covers everyday laptops for browsing, streaming and schoolwork through to higher-spec machines for working from home. If you're after something specific, a MacBook, a gaming laptop, or a particular model on your child's school BYOD list, ask us. We can rent to own almost any new laptop sold by a major Australian retailer.
Laptop rental on Centrelink or with bad credit
We give everyone a fair go. You can apply if you earn at least $500 a week (Centrelink payments count), have no current rental defaults and your existing loans are up to date. A past credit problem doesn't automatically rule you out. We assess each application on its own merits and we'll never put you into a payment you can't manage.
Why rent a laptop from Six Star?
Same-day approval, Monday to Friday
No big upfront payment and no hidden fees
Delivered to your door anywhere in Australia
Fixed weekly payments, nothing taken after your agreement ends
We'll work with you if your circumstances change
Looking for a phone or tablet on the same weekly-payment plan? See our rent to own phones and tablets.
You pick a laptop, choose a 12- or 24-month term and pay a fixed weekly amount by direct debit. There's no large upfront payment, just your first week. Make all your payments and the laptop is yours to keep at the end. It's rent to own, not a loan, and there's no final balloon payment.
Can I rent a laptop with bad credit or if I'm on Centrelink?
Usually, yes. Centrelink payments count as income, and a bad credit history doesn't automatically rule you out. We look at your situation today: income of at least $500 a week, no current rental defaults, loans up to date, and assess every application on its merits. If that sounds like you, it's worth applying.
How much does it cost to rent a laptop per week?
Our laptops start from $9.90 a week on a 24-month term, with higher-spec models from around $17.90. The weekly price is all-inclusive: no set-up fees, no delivery charge, no hidden costs, and no payments after your agreement ends. Every product shows its exact weekly price for both 12 and 24 months.
Are the laptops new?
Yes, every laptop is brand new and comes with Windows installed and the manufacturer's warranty. We don't rent refurbished or ex-lease machines. If something goes wrong through no fault of yours, call us and we'll help sort it out.
Can I rent a laptop for a school or uni BYOD list?
Yes. Tell us the model or the minimum specs on the school's list and we'll match it, or you can choose from the laptops on this page. Rent to own is a popular way to get a student laptop without the upfront cost, and the laptop is yours at the end of the agreement, so it can carry through to the next year.
Can I rent a laptop short-term for an event or a few weeks?
No, Six Star Rentals is rent to own, not short-term hire. Our agreements run for 12 or 24 months and you keep the laptop at the end. If you need laptops for a conference, exam or a short project, a business hire company will suit you better.
Can I get a laptop that isn't listed here, like a MacBook or gaming laptop?
Yes. We can rent to own almost any new laptop sold by a major Australian retailer, just tell us the make and model and we'll quote a weekly price. Special orders go through the same 5-minute application and same-day approval.
